Project Description: The research internship included working with Igor Aleiner on Google's quantum theory team. We were working on the theory of the measurement-induced phase transitions. In addition to developing the theory, we tried to understand whether the physics of these transitions can be utilized to design experiments on the Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) devices.

Relevance to Research: “Since my university research is related to quantum computing, the internship was relevant and helpful. In university, I am focused more on hardware problems for the quantum computer, whereas the internship was focused more on potential applications of the quantum computer and hence, it provided me with insights from a different angle.” -Khindanov
