Description: The industry internship included working with the cell modeling engineer team applying a first principle study on various battery compounds in order to predict better cathode and electrolyte materials. “By learning new tools like MedeA and mixing my experience with Monte Carlo simulations, I built the framework for studying new compounds that could be used as an electrode, and comparing the stability and electronic structure features.”(Kaboudvand). 

Relevance to Research: “During my internship, I learned to use new simulation tools that apply to a bigger system, also advanced my coding skills which helps me now in my current thesis projects. It gave me an industry perspective which helps me with finding the correct direction for my future career. “ -Kaboudvand
