Biography:

Paul received his BSc (Hons) in Chemical-Physics from the University of Winnipeg, his MSc in Chemistry from the University of Manitoba, and his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Edinburgh. His graduate work consisted of the synthesis, characterization, and inelastic neutron scattering studies of effective spin-1/2 magnets. He is currently an Elings postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Santa Barbara with Prof. Stephen Wilson. At UCSB, his research focuses on the development of excitonic models to address the mechanisms underlying excitations of emergent quantum phases.
