Quantum Industry Showcase 2025

The Quantum Foundry, in partnership with the UCSB Photonics Society, held the fifth annual Quantum Industry Showcase (QIS) on April 17 and 18, 2025. The QIS represents a cornerstone event for the Foundry’s engagement with a broad range of industry partners and serves as an opportunity for students to learn about research advances and career pathways in the private sector and connect and network with folks working in the quantum information industry.

This year’s event was bigger than ever, with 127 participants from UCSB and industry, and with 13 companies represented. The two-day event – sponsored in part by Oxford Instruments, Nexus Photonics, and HRL – included a networking lunch, a student poster competition, company tabling, technical and career panels with company representatives, as well as a keynote from Reza Nejabati at Cisco and presentations from Google Quantum AI, HRL, Nexus Photonics, Microsoft Quantum, Oxford Instruments, and Quantum Design. On day two, Microsoft Quantum hosted a Research Program Overview and Q&A session for QIS attendees, and students were invited to tour local facilities at Thorlabs Crystalline Solutions and Oxford Instrument’s Asylum Research.
