UC Santa Barbara

Evan was born near Tel Aviv, Israel and grew up in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, later moving to the megacity of Shanghai, China. He returned to the Midwest to attend Northwestern University, where he received a B.S. in Materials Science and Physics in 2019. After graduation he moved to UC Santa Barbara to join Prof. Susanne Stemmer’s research group in the Materials Department for PhD studies. As an NSF Quantum Foundry Fellow, he is interested in developing superconductor/3D Dirac semimetal hybrid structures, grown by molecular beam epitaxy, to realize new topological superconducting states.
