Hanbyeol Jeong (Data Scientist at Intel)
Biography
Hanbyeol was born in Busan, South Korea. He started to dream of being a scientist, attending Korea Science Academy. He earned a B.S. degree at POSTECH and an M.S. degree at Seoul National University, both in Materials Science and Engineering. His research topic during the master’s program was spin dynamics of soft ferromagnetic materials. After graduation, he joined SK Hynix Semiconductor. He was engaged in the development of Spin-Transfer-Torque Magnetic Random Access Memory (STT-MRAM). In 2018, he moved to America to study his Ph.D. program at UC Santa Barbara. Under the supervision of Prof. Susanne Stemmer, he is working on superconducting oxide heterostructures grown by molecular beam epitaxy.
