Matthew McEwen

Biography

Matt is a current PhD Student at UCSB and student researcher with the Google Quantum Hardware team based in Santa Barbara, where he works on the experimental implementation of quantum error correction. Matt is focused on understanding and mitigating sources of correlated error in large superconducting qubit arrays, including from leakage and impacts from high-energy radiation. Originally from Australia, Matt graduated from UNSW in 2017, where he worked on silicon donor qubits with Michelle Simmons.
