Biography

Andrei received his B.S. and M.Eng. in Engineering Physics at Cornell University where he studied nonlinear fiber optics in femtosecond-pulsed fiber lasers. During undergraduate summers he worked at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory on trapped ion atomic clocks and photonic systems for stable timing signal distribution. After graduation, he worked at the startup PsiQuantum on automated tests and measurements for optical materials development. In 2019 he began a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at UCSB in Professor Daniel Blumenthal’s lab. Outside of the lab, Andrei enjoys mountain biking and rock climbing.
