Arturo Juan
Bio: Arturo is PhD student in the Materials department working under Prof. Steven DenBaars and is a member of the Solid-State Lighting and Energy Electronics Center. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and a MS in Electrical & Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara. He worked for over 5 years in R&D on gallium nitride laser diodes doing optical, electrical, and failure characterization. His work focuses on the epitaxial growth via metal organic chemical vapor deposition of III-nitrides for quantum well laser diodes. These lasers can be used in photonic integrated circuits for applications such as optical communication, and quantum computing.
