Hyunseok Oh

Biography

Hyunseok Oh is a graduate student in the Physics Ph.D. program at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He holds a B.S. in Physics and a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from Seoul National University. Before pursuing his Ph.D. degree, he finished military service in South Korea as a sergeant and worked as an Artificial Intelligence research engineer at Hallym Medical A.I. Center to develop a medical diagnosis model based on deep learning. Since 2020, he is working at the Quantum Sensing and Imaging Group at UCSB with the guidance of Professor Ania Jayich. His research focuses on engineering diamonds for optomechanics and spin-phonon coupling. Hyunseok is a recipient of the Government Scholarship for Overseas Study from the National Institute for International Education of the Republic of Korea.
