Juan Chamorro

Biography:

Juan is currently a postdoctoral scholar in Prof. Stephen Wilson and Prof. Ram Seshadri's groups at UCSB. He obtained his PhD in chemistry from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD under Prof. Tyrel M. McQueen. His graduate work centered around the synthesis and characterization of various kinds of quantum materials, especially quantum spin liquids. At UCSB his research has focused on the crystal growth, characterization and scattering of quantum materials with competing electronic degrees of freedom. He is a part of the inaugural class of NSF MPS-Ascend Postdoctoral Fellows.
