Nick Lewis was born and raised in San Jose, California. He received a Bachelor of Science in nano-engineering from UC San Diego and is pursuing a PhD in the Quantum Photonics Lab at UCSB. His current research interests include engineering chip-scale sources of entangled photons and single-photon emitters. Through his research, Nick aims to develop scalable quantum photonic platforms with applications to quantum computing and communication. Nick's focus of research is the fabrication of AlGaAs on insulator microring resonators for the efficient generation of on-chip entangled photons.
