Paz London

UC Santa Barbara

Biography:

Paz is a postdoctoral researcher in the Ania Jayich group at UC Santa Barbara. His main research includes operating an NV-center based low temperature scanning probe microscope (NV-LTSPM). Prior to joining the Physics department in August 2021, he completed his PhD in the Israeli Institute of Technology (Technion). He studied the interaction of single NV-centers with their surrounding magnetic environment, mostly composed of nuclear spins.

His current interest is improving the sensitivity of the SPM for imaging electric current flows and stray magnetic fields. He uses imaging techniques for studying exotic electronic and magnetic properties of 2D materials such as graphene and transition-metals compounds, above and below their critical temperatures.

Paz is having a lot of fun in Santa Barbara with His wife, Sharon, and their four children.
