Sahil Patel

Biography

Sahil is a graduate student in the Quantum Photonics Lab (QPL). He is originally from India and grew up in Edmonton, Alberta from a young age. He received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from the University of Alberta in 2020 prior to joining UCSB as a Ph.D. candidate.

Through his work, Sahil hopes to help improve the scalability of optical quantum processors and help contribute to the development of quantum computing and networking. Aside from academia, Sahil enjoys a variety of recreational sports, particularly ice hockey. He also enjoys hiking and spending time with friends.
