Shirshendu Chatterjee

UC Santa Barbara

Shirshendu earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Calcutta in 2022, where he worked on the hydrothermal growth of ZnO nanowires for designing a microfluidic phosphate sensor. He also worked on MEMS-based micropumps for medical applications. During his Master's at UCSB, he joined the Palmstrøm lab, focusing on low-temperature growth and characterization of superconducting qubits. He also worked on the fabrication and characterization of topological insulators such as α-Sn. After graduating with his Master of Science degree, he continued with the Palmstrøm group to pursue his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is currently studying the low-temperature growth and characterization of topological insulators and superconductors. In his spare time, he enjoys going to the gym and playing the guitar!
