Steven Crisostomo

UC Santa Barbara

Steven received his BA in Physics and Mathematics from Hunter College, City University of New York, and his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from UC Irvine, where he worked with Kieron Burke on developing extensions to density functional theory (DFT). He is joining the Vlcek group as an NSF MPS Ascend Postdoctoral Fellow, focusing on Green’s function method development to model excitons out of equilibrium. While still a fervent believer in DFT, Steven is excited to explore Green’s function methods and other (fun)ctional approaches to the quantum many-body problem. When not in the office, he’s probably somewhere outside.
