Biography
I am a Ph.D. student in the Van de Walle Group at UC Santa Barbara. Before joining the physics department in 2019, I did my M.S. at the University of Chicago and B.S. at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Computational research plays a crucial role in developing new materials and improving the properties of existing materials. The quantum defects in materials are possible qubit platforms for quantum computing due to their embedding in the host crystal and the manipulation techniques building on decades of point-defect research. I am interested in using first-principles techniques to model quantum materials and find suitable qubit platforms.
