Evgeny Redekop
Biography
Evgeny was born in Moscow, Russia. He studied field emission properties of carbon nanomaterials at Moscow State University. During that time, he founded a hardware startup and published a paper in a highly cited journal. After graduating with a B.Sc. in physics, Evgeny joined the Materials Science M.Sc. program at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. His research focused on the electronic and magnetic properties of 2D metal-organic frameworks possessing kagome lattice crystal structure. He defended the M.Sc. thesis with honors and moved to Santa Barbara. Here he is pursuing a doctoral degree in physics under the guidance of Professor Andrea F. Young. His main research topic is developing the SQUID-on-tip technique to spacially resolve magnetic and thermal effects in quantum materials.
