Simon Meynell

Biography

Simon was born on the briny Atlantic coast of Canada and he loves listening to music and what other people have to say. He is a third-year physicist working in Ania Jayich’s group studying diamond as a host for novel quantum defects to study. He’s really inspired questions of coherence and quantum information. Simon sees science as a kind of exploration, and he loves to laugh and observe new things in nature. He enjoys being outside with friends, playing guitar and reading but mostly he’s excited by the process of learning about something new.
