Lillian Hughes (2021 QF Trainee, member of thrust 3) received the “Best student oral presentation” award in the diamond for electronics, sensors, and detectors symposium at the European Materials Research Society conference in Strasbourg, France on June 1, 2023. She presented her work on engineering two-dimensional spin systems using PECVD diamond growth for enhanced quantum sensing and simulation, advised by Prof. Ania Jayich and Prof. Kunal Mukherjee. Lillian is grateful for the opportunity to present and connect with researchers around the world, thanks to support from the Quantum Foundry.

Additionally, Lillian Hughes received the “Best Student Oral Presentation” award in the diamond for electronics, sensors, and detectors symposium at the European Materials Research Society conference in Strasbourg, France and also the “First Place Oral Presentation Prize” at the New Diamond and Nano Carbons conference in East Lansing, Michigan. At both conferences, she presented her work on engineering two dimensional spin systems using PECVD diamond growth for enhanced quantum sensing and simulation, advised by Prof. Ania Jayich and Prof. Kunal Mukherjee. Lillian is grateful for the opportunity to present and connect with researchers around the world, thanks to support from the Quantum Foundry.
